Other things to do

ARTS/CRAFTS

There are really good options for the kids in getting into some of the local arts and crafts. The two hotels in Ubud that we know have good arts and crafts activities for the kids are Taman Harum ( in the favorite hotels area) and Klub Kokos (www.klubkokos.com).

You can do -

Give these activities a go , they are great fun and you get to keep what you make!

MONKEY FOREST

Not only do you get to feed these animals ( you can buy nuts at the forest) at the Mengwi forest, but there are also fruit bats hanging in the trees. There is quite an extensive market located here. A must for the kids. Be careful not to have loose jewellery or other valuables in easy reach as monkeys are prone to trying to grab them and run off. It can upset young kids.

BALINESE DANCING/MUSIC

T

These can be watched in various places or hotels and restaurants may have them for entertainment. One restaurant we went to in Kalibukbuk (Lovina) invited us up one at a time to imitate the dance of the fans. It was a bit of fun and the kids enjoyed laughing at us all.

SNORKELLING AT LOVINA

You can hire a traditional Bali jukung( fishing boat) for 20,000 Rph per person for two hours. This is really worth while as you get out onto the reefs further from shore and see more fish and coral. They will charge an extra 10,000 Rph per hour.
